TimePilot Central: Menus
Administrative
This menu in TimePilot Central contains some of the more advanced functions in the TimePilot
software.
- Login Account Setup: This is where you can change the
password that's used to access the software. The password was originally set
when you first installed TimePilot. The username will always be
"Administrator." (The Enterprise Edition of the TimePilot software allows
you to have multiple logins, each with their own password and level of
access. (You can upgrade your software to the Enterprise Edition; for
details, please see the TimePilot web site,
www.TimePilot.com.) If you forget your password,
please contact TimePilot technical support at 630-879-6400 or
Support@TimePilot.com.
- Auto Lunch Setup: This is where you set the amount of time an
employee must work before Auto Lunch can be used. For more details on Auto
Lunch, click
here.
- Change Past Time Period Dates: This seldom-used function allows
you to change the start and end dates of an extracted time period. If you
need to expand the date range of an extracted pay period in order to insert
additional transactions that fall just outside the existing start or end of
the period, this will give you the "space" to insert it. The existing
transactions in the extracted period will not be affected.
- Change Time Period Buffers: Use this feature before you
extract the data to
automatically capture "In" transactions or "Out" transactions that fall just
outside the pay period . This stops you from ending up with one part of an
employee's workday in one pay period and the other part of the workday in
the next pay period. For a full explanation of buffers, click
here.
- TimePilot PC Administration: If you're running
TimePilot PC, our
software-based time and attendance system, you are allowed to install the
software on a certain number of computers (the basic packages come with one
or five
licenses; more licenses can be purchased). You can keep track of the computers
running the software here, as well as delete a license from a computer so
that you can move the software to another PC. You can also set a password here that
restricts access to the menus that are available on the clocks at each installation.
- Set Time Format: Gives you a choice of how time is displayed in
TimePilot Central: the 12-hour format (with a.m. and p.m.) or the 24-hour
format (military time). For more details, click
here.
- Back Up Database: Creates a backup copy of the
TimePilot database. You can specify where the software should put the file
(server, USB drive, etc.) and the backup's filename. For more details, click
here.
